Tashi Chhoe Dzong – fortress of the glorious religion, is an impressive structure that houses the Bhutanese government and stand on the right side of the Wangchu River (Thimphu). The fortress was ﬁrst built in 1641 but after a few past ﬁres, the entire Dzong was rebuilt in 1962 in traditional fashion, without nails or written plans. In the past, the National Assembly met within the Dzong. Today, it houses the secretariat, throne room, and ofﬁces of King of Bhutan. The northern portion is the summer residence of the Je Khenpo and the Central Monastic Body

Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan. Located in an open valley, Thimphu is one of the attractive, clean and green town, drained by Thimphu Chhu. The city built up area extending for about 3km housing over 100,000 people. It is the most populous town in Bhutan
The town houses the centre of government, religion and commerce. Thimphu is a unique city with unusual mixture of modern development alongside ancient traditions. Although not what one expects from a capital city, Thimphu is still a fitting and lively place. Home to civil servants, expatriates and monk body, Thimphu maintains a strong national character in its architectural style.

★ Drive to Thimphu
★ Walk along the last remaining Iron-Chained Bridge
★ Lunch at Thimphu
★ Visit Tashi Choe Dzong, Memorial Chorten & Kuensel Phodrang
★ Overnight in Thimphu.
★ After early morning breakfast, drive 15 minutes to Sangay Gang
★ Start the trek
★ Visit Phajoding Monastery (If time permits)
★ End of Trek, on driving down the hill we may drop by Motithang park to see Takin, the national animal of Bhutan
★ Overnight in Thimphu
We start at Sangay Gang, an area brimmed with hundreds of colourful prayer flags to bless our trek. The trek to Phajoding includes gentle slopes through thick blue pine forest. We cross a monastery, Chhokhortse Gompa (3010 m) and slowly descend slightly steep slopes towards Motithang. You will find your vehicle awaiting where your trek ends.

★ Drive to Paro town for lunch
★ Visit National Museum and Rinpung Dzong
★ In the evening, watch Cultural Show specially performed for your group (10 pax)
★ Overnight in Paro
★ After breakfast hike to the famous Taktshang Monastery (3,120m).
★ Hike uphill all the way to Tiger’s Nest Temple (1,000m ascent)
★ Overnight in Paro.
★ Your guide and driver will send you to the airport and bid you farewell.
